Matter is an IPV6-based application protocol that runs on existing network technologies such as Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and Thread. Matter-compatible devices can use at least one of the aforementioned network protocols to communicate and work together seamlessly across different platforms.
Matter promises a high level of security and privacy protection. Matter uses blockchain to securely validate devices when pairing them to your control app. Each Matter device generates its own secure digital identification certificate.
All Matter commands and control code transmissions are confined to your presumably secure local Wi-Fi network, so every communication between your devices is both authenticated and encrypted. As a result, hackers should find no points of attack at all.
All new Matter-compatible products will bear the Matter mark on their packaging or device body. Simply start by scanning the QR code, tapping on the NFC tag or manually entering the setup digits.
